Return and Reintegration Protection Monitoring - Sudan (RRPM)

The proposal focuses on sustainability of returns and welfare of receiving communities by ensuring that absorption capacity is enhanced while increasing access to protection information at the villages of returnees final destination, the protection monitoring will look at a wide range of protection issues like access basic services (water, food, health, education, etc.), landmines, access to land issues, HIV awareness etc.

Creating Conditions for Peaceful Coexistence between Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in PoCs, Returnees and Host Community Members

The project avails economic opportunities and build the self-reliance of voluntarily returning communities so that returns are sustained. Livelihood opportunities will complement the peace building and scoial cohesion compenent through encourage returnees and IDPs to engaged in communal vegetable production activities including joint training, peer-to-peer learning and common markets for produce.

Improved Water Supply - Reintegration and Conflict Mitigation for Returnees and Host Communities in South Sudan’s Areas Affected by High Levels of Return by High Levels of Return, Conflict and Low Access to Basic Services

This intervention therefore aims to provide returnees and host communities in counties that are most affected by adverse circumstances with access to safe water. It will also provide a long-term solution to critically limited water resources while creating a positive impact with regards to improvements on health and sanitation issues that are a consequence of inadequate access to clean water.

The Abyei Rehabilitation Initiative – South Sudan

Through this project, priority infrastructure including schools, health clinics, potable water systems and the Abyei marketplace will be rehabilitated in close coordination with return communities and leaders in the Abyei area in order to restore basic services and ensure that those who do choose to return may do so in adequate conditions. The project will also provide assistance to Misseriya pastoralists who travel with their cattle along well-established migratory routes in the Abyei Area.

Peace and Stability Quick Impact Fund for the South-North Border Areas of South Sudan (PSQIF)

The overall objective of the programme is to provide quick, flexible and visible peace building and stabilising interventions that will help to create an enabling environment for peaceful coexistence among communities in the border states that will deter the outbreak of future conflict while strengthening mutual confidence and trust among community members.

Investing towards Impact for HIV/AIDS in South Sudan – Global Fund (2018)

IOM proposes to undertake HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support interventions. These interventions aim to contribute to reducing new HIV infections and deaths among key and vulnerable populations in South Sudan. This will be achieved through awareness raising and comprehensive HIV testing and treatment among key population groups and through increased access to and retention in HIV/AIDS care, treatment, and support for key population groups.
