Provision of Emergency WASH Assistance for Population Affected by Conflict & Natural Disaster in Northern Bahr El Gazal, Warrap and Upper Nile States, South Sudan

The project aims to reduce the target population's exposure to water borne diseases through (i) improved access to safe drinking water (ii) provision of adequate sanitation facilities (iii) dissemination of hygiene promotion messages with particular focus on women and children.

Assisting 3870 Stranded Returnees in Renk to Reach their Final Destinations through Onward Transportation Assistance, South Sudan

IOM’s objective is to provide emergency transportation assistance to 10,000 returnees from Renk to their final destination (please see the table below). This proposal intends to support the 3,500 most vulnerable returnees with emergency transportation assistance, including pre-embarkation health checks to ensure fitness to travel, and provision of medical escorts for those who need health assistance during the journey.

Emergency Assistance for Vulnerable and Stranded Returnees in South Sudan (EAVSR)

The objective of the project is to assist 4,000 vulnerable returnees stranded in Renk with onward transport assistance. The proposed activities are: 1. Road and place of arrival assessments conducted in all final areas of destination in South Sudan; 2. Transport fleet and/or agreements put in place to provide capacity for onward journey support to stranded IDPs to their places of final destination. Dedicated safe spaces allocated on barges for women and children; 3. Manifesting of passengers and flagging of vulnerable women and children; 4.

Provision of Safe Water, Adequate Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion to Vulnerable Persons in Area Impacted by High Levels of Returns and Emergency WASH Supplies, South Sudan (PWFP)

The objective of the project is to reduce the targeted population’s exposure to water borne diseases through: 1) Improved access to safe drinking water; 2) To provide adequate sanitation facilities; 3) Dissemination of hygiene promotion messages. IOM will focus its activities on providing clean water and sanitation to15,000 vulnerable returnees, IDPs and vulnerable host community in Renk County (ChumediPayam and RenkPayam) of Upper Nile State: 1. Emergency Assistance to Sudanese Refugees in Upper Nile State, South Sudan (EASN) - PRM

The project will aim to provide emergency lifesaving activities to approximately 25,000 refugees affected by the ongoing fighting in Blue Nile State, in the new neighboring country, the Republic of Sudan. IOM as Non Food Items and Emergency Shelter, Emergency Returns Sector, Cluster lead and active partner of the WASH and health cluster will coordinate and monitor the distribution of assistance through the Cluster system and with UNHCR in charge of the overall coordination.

Emergency Assistance of Stranded Returnees in South Sudan (EASR)

The purposes of the project are to provide: 1) Life-saving, multi-sectoral emergency relief support interventions to returnees with increased capacity to deliver emergency water sanitation services, mobile medical clinics; 2) Provide transportation assistance to returning populations covering only cases of highly vulnerable stranded populations; 3) Provide emergency way station/transit station infrastructure support; 4) Procurement, handling, transportation and distribution of Non Food Item (NFI) kits/emergency shelter, ensuring fast and flexible distribution to returnees, in all 10 States

Emergency Provision of WASH Supplies and Services - South Sudan (EPWS)

The proposed project will enable the immediate provision of safe drinking water, sanitation facilities and hygiene services to populations in Southern Sudan States affected by internal conflict, natural disaster and recent LRA fighting. The project aims at targeting 100,000 beneficiaries (IDP, refugee and host community) and consists of the immediate provision of water sanitation and hygiene services through a combination of rapid water transportation/purification and sanitation/ hygiene promotion activities.
