Integrated Emergency Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Response and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

The program aims to save lives and preserve the dignity of vulnerable populations including displaced people and host communities, and /or people living in cholera hotspot areas, through increased access to safe, equitable and adequate Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion (WASH) services and by responding to and preventing Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

Provision of Emergency CCCM, DTM, WASH, Health & MHPSS in South Sudan

The proposed project will build on IOMs significant experience in humanitarian response in South Sudan including in the Bentiu, Malakal and Wau PoC sites. The project will continue to build on existing CCCM, DTM, WASH (including core pipeline), Health and MHPSS services and will continue to support rapid response mechanisms which provide lifesaving Health services to conflict-affected populations in hard-to-access areas.

Procurement and Management of WASH Core Pipeline Relief Items for Cholera and Conflict-affected Communities in South Sudan

The WASH Cluster Core Pipeline of emergency WASH supplies provides WASH agencies in South Sudan with rapid access to critical materials, to provide life-saving, coordinated WASH services to IDPs, refugees, and vulnerable communities affected by cholera outbreaks, conflict, and malnutrition. This project will support WASH Cluster partners to provide WASH core pipeline supplies, including water storage and household water treatment supplies such as soap, jerry cans and aqua tabs, to areas affected by conflict and cholera outbreaks.

Health and Wash Response to Vulnerable Populations on South Sudan

This project aims to save lives and prevent further deterioration of conditions for those facing severe food insecurity through an integrated health and WASH response. IOM WASH Emergency, Preparedness and Response teams (EPnR) and Health mobile/static Health Rapid Response Team (RRT) teams will provide coordinated services in communities facing malnutrition and food insecurity (IPC 3-5).

Improving Human Security for Vulnerable Displaced Populations and Host Communities in South Sudan Affected by Conflict

The overall objective of this project is to provide essential lifesaving humanitarian services to vulnerable populations in high priority locations. The project approach addresses critical needs in three sectors where IOM has technical, operational and strategic capacity to coordinate response and ensure the effective and timely delivery of assistance. Namely, through this project, IOM will provide health care services, shelter and non-food item (S-NFI) assistance and Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) activities such as registration for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Procurement and management of the Core Pipeline WASH emergency supplies to support the enhancement of the WASH sector’s preparedness and response in South Sudan

The project contributes to enhancing and strengthening the prepositioning of the WASH Cluster Core Pipeline in South Sudan. Through this project IOM will assist the WASH Cluster agencies to ensure the provision of safe water supply, improved sanitation, and promoting good hygiene, targeting the most vulnerable populations affected by the conflict, at risk of disease outbreak, and/or those facing nutritional crises.

Provision of Emergency WASH, Health and PSS in South Sudan

This project proposes the continuation of IOM’s Psychosocial Support Services (PSS) services in Bentiu, and the roll-out of similar services in Malakal PoC including training for humanitarian partners. Under this project, IOM requests support for rapid response modalities able to move into places with identified need and rapidly implement lifesaving need, such as the Health Rapid Response Teams (RRTs).

Procurement and Management of Core WASH Emergency Supplies to Support the Enhancement of the WASH Sector’s Preparedness and Response

The project will assist the WASH cluster in ensuring the provision of safe water supply and improved sanitation, and promoting good hygiene. The project will target the most vulnerable populations, specifically women and children, those internally displaced persons (IDPs) (including protracted and new displacement), at risk of disease outbreak, and/or those facing nutritional crises. The project will focus on the procurement of hygiene kits (which have a high demand) and menstrual hygiene management kits (MHM) (which have been prioritized by the WASH Cluster).

Improving Human Security for Vulnerable Displaced Populations and Host Communities in South Sudan Affected by Conflict-South Sudan

IOM aims to provide lifesaving interventions in priority locations in key states where conflict and food insecurity affects the most vulnerable individuals and communities. IOM will address the most urgent needs of vulnerable populations by providing assistance in health, shelter and NFI and CCCM to coordinate and sustain service delivery in the most appropriate and ethical manner. Current priority locations as defined by the Inter Cluster Working Group (ICWG) are Upper Nile, Unity and Jonglei States.

Provision of Emergency WASH, Health and Humanitarian Services in Bentiu and Malakal POCS - South Sudan

This project aims to improve access to safe water and better sanitation facilities, and allow IOM to continue primary and reproductive healthcare, in both the Bentiu and Malakal UNMISS PoC site through continuing and boosting WASH and Health activities. The support will ensure the provision of services is effectively rolled-out across the new PoC expansion areas in both sites, and reach new arrivals seeking shelter. The Project gives greater scope for IOM to implement an integrated, comprehensive approach to health and hygiene promotion.
