Emergency Relief Assist to the Typhoon & Flood Affected Population in Region II & III, Philippines (EHRAD)

The principal objective of the project is to contribute to the GoPs continuing efforts towards emergency relief for families affected in Bulacan and Pampanga provinces. The specific objective is to improve the situation of families affected by typhoons Nesat and Nalgae through provision of emergency health service, transport and warehousing support and repair of essential communal facilities in flood-affected communities through cash-for-work schemes.

EPA Loan Following Ketsana-Ondoy Storm in the Philippines - October 2009 (RRHA Manila)

The Ketsana/Ondoy storm in 2009 has left 298 dead and more than 730,000 displaced persons in the Philippines. The EPA funds requested by MRF Manila will go towards immediate placing of IOM Cluster Coordinators, for an initial period of 90 days, in the midst of the complex Cluster Coordination process. MRF Manila leads the CCCM and NFI Cluster, is operationally strong in Shelter as well, and is a regular participant in Logistics, WASH and Health clusters.

Camp Coordination and Camp Management Support - Manila, Philippines (ONDOY CCCM)

The objective of the project is to contribute to the efforts of the Philippine Government and other humanitarian sectors to provide coordinated, needs-based and efficient emergency aid in Typhoon Ketana (Ondoy) affected areas in Metro Manila (NCR) and Region IV-A, specifically, to contribute to the continuing efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the provision of Camp Coordination and Camp Management Support to displaced populations living in evacuation centers.

IOM Emergency Shelter Support and NFI Augmentation Project (ESSAP)

The purpose and objective of Emergency Programme/Project is to contribute to the continuing efforts of the Philippine Government and other humanitarian actors to provide coordinated and efficient emergency aid in the affected areas of Metro Manila and Region IV-A, with focus on emergency shelter and household NFIs. Households targeted are those to which the displaced have returned but whish are in a severely damaged state, hazardous to health and survival.

Recovery Assistance to the Population Affected by Typhoon Haiyan

The project aims to contribute to the efforts of the Government of the Philippines and its humanitarian partners in assisting affected women, men, girls and boys; including those with disabilities and special needs, who are displaced and those have already returned or planning to return to their places of origin through shelter and NFI assistance, CCCM capacity building and health assistance.

Barangay Health Center Construction in Catanduanes (BHC)

Upon the request of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and in coordination with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes and the Provincial Health Office, IOM will construct six (6) barangay health centers in Catanduanes, for the benefit of a total of about 792 families (approximately 3,960 individuals) in six (6) selected barangays in the municipalities of Virac, San Andres, San Miguel, Baras, and Bato.

National profile of migration of health professionals - Philippines

Worldwide mobility of health professionals (MoHProf) is a growing phenomenon, impacting the health systems of receiving, transit, and sending countries. EU Member States are increasingly affected by these developments - which might occur simultaneously within the same country. Therefore, the need to develop European policies to adequately address these issues is urgent. At the same time, reliable and differentiated knowledge and findings as a basis for such policy are lacking.

Supporting National Level Migration Health Coordination Mechanisms in Asia

The project will support the Ministries of Health in Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand to establish national level multi-sectoral migrant health coordination mechanisms, conduct national situational analysis and technical thematic research on migrant health, to support the development of national action plans to respond to new global level guidance on principles and priorities for addressing migrant health.

On the Move: Critical Migration Themes in ASEAN

This book explores new concepts and identifies critical themes in migration studies in ASEAN, with a focus on selected emerging trends, namely: various forms and degrees of environmental change and how these changes transform migration; labour, human trafficking and migration; migrant children; and gender. It presents selected papers from two conferences at Chulalongkorn University hosted by the Asian Research Center for Migration (ARCM) and its partners, held to mark International Migrants Day on 18 December in 2011 and 2012.
