Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
Prof. Dr. Sohayla M. Attalla is a graduate of Mansoura Faculty of Medicine (1994), Egypt and received her Post-Graduate Master (2000) and Doctorate (2006) in Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology from Mansoura Faculty of Medicine. She is working at the Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology Department since 1997, where she taught to the fourth year medical students, second year high institute of health students and third year nursing school, Mansoura, Egypt. At 2013, She joined the International Medical School (IMS), Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia as head of Forensic Medicine Unit. She has many researches in forensic medicine and clinical toxicology and has been an editor or a reviewer in many prestigious scientific journals in the field and had Elsevier award for outstanding reviewer 2017, 2018 . She also had supervised many Master and Doctorate degrees in Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology.

She had a Diploma in Health Care Quality Management (2008), Diploma in Healthcare Organizations' Administration (2009). She is professional trainer certified by International Board of Certified Trainers (IBCT) & Egyptian National Centre for Leadership Development (NCFLD) (2011). Also, she received a quality management system auditor / lead auditor (QMSLAC), IRCA certified training course (2011).She is member of the Egyptian Society for Training and Continuing Medical Education (EMTA), a non-profit organization for supporting the training and continuous medical Education among the Egyptian Physicians.

She was a Treasure and Management Board member of Mansoura Faculty of Medicine Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), president of the HQIC (Hospitals Quality Improvement Committee), founded in 2012 to guide the quality improvement activities and projects in Mansoura University Hospitals. She was Vice president of Strategic Planning Committee (SPC), and member of Internal Reviewing Committee (IRC), medical curriculum development committee (MCDC) and performance analysis and evaluation committee (PAEC). Also, she was treasure of Human Resource Development Unit (HRDU), Faculty of Medicine – Mansoura University, Egypt. Besides, she has many researches in forensic medicine and clinical toxicology shared in many conferences, training courses, workshops as instructor and trainer besides attending many others.

Her research interests include health and human rights of migrants, awareness of migrants about the healthcare system in Malaysia, accessibility of migrants to healthcare services, affordability of the healthcare services to the migrants, as well as child and mother health, vaccination coverage of migrant children, nutritional and general health status of migrants, sexual and reproductive health, refugee health, and violence and human rights.
