Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
As a research fellow with a background in migration studies and public health. I have been focusing on research that can contribute to more effective public health programmes. With the growing number of public health issues confronting society. Ransford believes that rather than attempting to eliminate their influence as causal effects, research should seek to understand and work within real-world conditions, thereby contributing to more effective public health programs to improve the health of migrants and refugees. Key areas include access to health care for vulnerable migrant groups within the context of urbanisation; social determinants of health; the public health system; bio-ethics and research ethics. He has published in various peer-reviewed journals. He is currently a member of the MHADRI early-career researchers (ECR) working group and a team member working on the group's newsletter.
