Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
I am a medical doctor from Nepal, currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at Kyorin University, Japan. During my masters studies at The University of Tokyo, I conducted a study on risky sexual behaviors and HIV risk among Nepalese migrant returnees from the Middle East countries. During my PhD studies at the same University, I conducted a mixed method study on access to health care and mental health among Nepalese migrants living in Japan. Currently, I am leading a research project on access to HIV and TB related health services among Chinese, Vietnamese and Nepalese migrants in Japan. Apart from research, I am also involved in advocacy for migrants' rights in Japan and organizing free health checkup and counseling camps for Nepalese migrants residing in Japan.
