Global Health Assessment Programme - resettlements in Australia (HAPA)

At the request of the Government of Australia, IOM carries out migration health assessment and DNA sample collection services for immigration self-payer applicants referred by local Australian High Commissions, in accordance with the Australian government’s instructions for the medical and radiological examination of Australian visa applicants.

Global Health Assessment Programme - Resettlements in Other Countries (HAPOC)

At the request of governments and entities other than the Governments of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States, IOM carries out migration health assessment, DNA sample collection, age assessment, and pre-departure medical assessment services for refugees, returnees, students and immigration self-payer applicants referred by various governments and entities, such as UNHCR.

Health Emergency Response in Sri Lanka (HERS)

The project ultimate goal is to improve the health status of war-displaced persons in the project catchment area through supporting the national disease surveillance system, improving accessibility to primary, secondary and specialized health care services including psychosocial and mental health care components, and strengthening the local health system through training, institutional support and coordination to respond to the ongoing and emerging health needs of the beneficiaries.

Enhancing Disease Surveillance, Outbreak Response, Clinical Management, Referral Mechanism and Patient Care Within IDP Settings

The project's overall primary objective is to reduce the morbidity of target communities by early detection of communicable disease events of epidemic or life threatening potential, through a robust early warning surveillance system, effective outbreak response mechanisms, implementing dynamic health promotion programs and environmental control measures (such campaigns to reduce vector breeding sites).
