Emergency Shelter and NFIs Support to Flood Affected Vulnerable Populations in Pakistan (ESNFIP)

This project will support the interventions of the humanitarian community and the government to provide Shelter/NFI (non-food items) to flood affected populations, so far Shelter/NFI distribution has not commenced in the area. All activities presented in the project will be implemented in accordance with objectives defined by the Emergency Shelter/NFI Cluster. The areas of intervention will be coordinated at the initial stages with the cluster to ensure the outreach of affected population and avoid duplication and overlap with other organizations.

Shelter-NFI Support to the Flood Affected Population of Pakistan (SFAP)

The 2010 monsoon spell on 22 July early morning in Pakistan resulted in unprecedented river and flash floods across all provinces in Pakistan. According to the latest UN reports, over one million people have been affected by monsoon rains and resultant flooding across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK). Initial assessment reports indicate enormous losses to infrastructure including housing, health, WASH and communication networks, damage assessment of numerous areas is yet to be conducted.

Early Recovery and Residual Relief Support to Flood Affected Population of Sindh, Pakistan (ERSF - Poland)

This project would overview and facilitates the Early Recovery and Residual Relief support to flood affected population of Sindh. All activities presented in the project will be implemented in accordance with objectives defined by the Shelter/NFI, Protection, Health, Coordination and other relevant clusters. Special consideration will be given to the unique needs and requirements of women and children.

This IOM project aims to work in close partnership with the humanitarian community and the disaster management authorities at national, provincial and district levels, local governance institutions and communities to restore access, reduce risk, support income generation and facilitate resumption of public services. This project will contribute to the efficiency and the effectiveness of the early recovery efforts for flood affected population in Pakistan.
