COVID-19 crisis in Jordan: Response, scenarios, strategies, and recommendations

As of April 12, 2020, a total of 389 cases of coronavirus disease were confirmed in Jordan. To control this imminent threat, Jordan has enforced public health infection prevention and control measures, called for social distancing, seized all forms of inbound and outbound movement and international travel, and enacted the Defence Law that transferred the authority to the Minister of Defence to work and formulate orders according to the situation.

Migrant Protection and Assistance in Jordan: Promoting Mental Health

The main objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of mental health support services provision in relation to migrant protection and assistance in Jordan. The project will seek to achieve its objective through an overriding goal of ensuring mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) is mainstreamed in migrant protection and assistance with a focus on VoTs and other persons of concern (PoC). This will be actualized within the project by providing training to various stakeholders in counter-trafficking (CT) and MHPSS.

Nutritional profile of Syrian refugee children before resettlement

Abstract
Background
The year 2015 marked the highest number of refugees globally and included record numbers of Syrians moving to neighboring countries. Half of the Syrians were children aged ≤18 years. Our study sought to examine undernutrition and overnutrition among a group of Syrian refugee children who underwent medical screening by IOM for resettlement.
Methods

Emergency Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Lebanon (EAL)

Through this project, IOM will assess the needs of the most vulnerable among the estimated one million IDPs in Lebanon and provide site and shelter assistance, transportation, urgently needed 1. IDP site, shelter and relief assistance, 2. emergency transport and voluntary relocation, 3. registration and data analysis, 4. information and 5. preparatory measures for mental health and psychosocial & trauma response.
