Mental Health and Psychosocial Support to Conflict-Affected Populations in Georgia
IOM, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and WHO, will provide a three pronged technical assistance program aimed at strengthening the capacity of primary health center-based doctors and nurses on mental health and psychosocial services in the conflict-affected areas and enhancing the existing mental health referral system within a six month timeframe. It is also envisioned that this will include community-based awareness raising on mental health and psychosocial issues particularly with NGOs, community leaders and religious leaders.
Awareness Raising on the Dangers of Drug Abuse among At-Risk Vulnerable Groups in Georgia
IOM aims to conduct a comprehensive participatory information campaign focusing on young people and targeting vulnerable groups at risk through mobile outreach by promoting healthy lifestyles and alternative behaviour models. In pursuit of this objective, IOM in collaboration with partners will launch a National Drug Demand Reduction Campaign that will be conducted countrywide through outreach activities and based on participatory all-inclusive approaches.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the process of relieving the drug problem in Georgia in line with the Anti-Drug Strategy of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. Through the planned trainings and workshops social workers and medical personnel engaged in the field of drug addiction will receive up-to-date information on modern Western trends.

Capacity Building of Law Enforcement Structures to Reduce Drug Demand in Georgia
The project will reinforce the National Anti-Drug System of Georgia by building the capacity of law enforcement structures and multi-functional expert teams at national and local levels to address the problems of substance abuse and drug trafficking in an effective manner and offer comprehensive rehabilitation services to mobile populations suffering from substance abuse through coordinated referral mechanism.
