Return and Reintegration of Qualified Skilled Migrants from Iran (RARQA)

The main objective of this project is to contribute to the reconstruction of Afghanistan through capacity building in the country’s administration, restoration and development of essential social services, such as education and health, construction and transport, rural development and agriculture, and commercial development through the return and reintegration of skilled or semi-skilled Afghans into the country’s economic life thereby contributing to the country’s capacity to receive and reintegrate a greater number of Afghan returnees in the long run.

Assistance for Afghans Immigration Processing and Settlement in Canada (AIPC)

This project aims to facilitate the Canadian Government’s offer to welcome to Canada the Afghans who used to work for the Canadian military and diplomats in Afghanistan, Kandahar Province. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has approached IOM for assistance and movement of Afghans to Canada for further settlement. CIC shall do the admissibility interview, processing of visa and security check. IOM’s assistance shall consist in logistics, forms filling, arranging health check, delivering pre-departure orientation, arranging ground and air transport.

Post-arrival Humanitarian Assistance for Vulnerable Undocumented Afghan Returnees from Pakistan - Afghanistan

The humanitarian situation has changed dramatically since the current HRP was drafted in 2014, with the significant increase in spontaneous returns and deportations of undocumented Afghans in the East and Southeast. Provision of post-arrival humanitarian and transportation assistance to the most vulnerable undocumented Afghans has been proven to be a life-saving humanitarian response that is critical to sustain these increasing vulnerable populations.

Emergency Winterization Assistance and Capacity Building in Afghanistan (EWA)

IOM is seeking to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to IDPs and vulnerable families, including children and the elderly, by providing winter kits to vulnerable families throughout Afghanistan. Using existing rapid procurement, warehousing and delivery mechanisms IOM will deliver 5000 winter kits, each containing blankets, coats, sweaters, scarves, shoes and socks. The objective of the program is to increase the quality of life for vulnerable Afghans during the winter months and reduce weather related mortality and morbidity.
