Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
I am an Anthropologist with a degree in social science and a PhD in Environmental Public Health. I work as an Associate Scientist at icddrb, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. My research interest is gender, work, and health of the migrant female garment workers in Bangladesh. I am also leading the Bangladesh part of a multi-country study on non-communicable diseases, and the use of evidence in policy processes. I am working for the past 18 years in Bangladesh. I work closely with the national government, civil society organizations and UN systems in Bangladesh.
