Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
Having obtained MPhil and PhD in Development Studies (in March 2012 and March 2020, respectively) from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, I have initiated, coordinated, managed, and implemented a number of research studies. As the Grants Officer of the University, I have been part of the following project implementation as a project team member:

• 2020: Needs Assessment for Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn Project) – Co-Investigator [Donor: SOS Children’s Village Netherlands and SOS Children’s Village Ghana]
• 2019: Final Evaluation of the Green Skills Ghana Project – Project Team Member [Donor: Plan International Ghana]
• 2019: Assessment of the Integrated Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Programme for Selected Girls in Six Regions in Ghana – Project Team Member [Donor: UNFPA]
• 2018: Baseline Survey for Rural Emergency Health Service and Transport (REST II) Project – Project Team Member [Donor: Catholic Relief Services]
• 2017: Baseline Study of Green Skills for Ghana Project – Project Team Member [Donor: Plan International Ghana]
• 2016 and 2017: Complementary Basic Education (CBE) Learners Assessment – Baseline and Endline [Donor: DFID and UKAID] – Drop out of learners (pupils) partly due to migration of parents

All the above-implemented projects are aimed at educating the youth on the various forms of exploitation against youth who migrate to the south of Ghana and the criminality and precarious and dangerous migration to Europe.

I also serve as a Co-Opted Protocol Reviewer on the Institutional Review Board of UCC, and the Grants Officer of the University. As part of my schedule in these capacities, I work with the Department of Population and Health on project implementation and review research protocols on population, migration, and health issues.

At the first-ever (2020) Virtual Summer School on the Theme ‘The Migration Generation: Climate, Youth and Refugees” by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU - United Kingdom) and the University of Cape Coast, I served as a Steering Committee member for planning and organizing a successful Summer School (Jul, 2018 – Aug, 2020). I was also the Chairperson for the Reflective Session of Summer School.
