Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
FAIRMED India has embarked on a 3 yr pilot to understand the impact of migration on people affected by leprosy especially those who've initiated or are currently on leprosy multi-drug treatment. The study is being undertaken in 4 states in India namely Chandigarh & Delhi as in-migration states and Bihar & Uttar Pradesh as out-migration states. The study is being implemented by FAIRMED India in collaboration with various stakeholders including the Government of India, WHO's Global Leprosy Program (GLP), WHO India, Indian Association of Leprologists, International Federation of Anti-leprosy Associations (ILEP), Association of people affected by leprosy (APAL), and implementing partner ChangeScape. The project is supported by Novartis Healthcare Private Limited.
