As a Senior Project Assistant (IOM) and later as Project Lead Consultant (IOM) towards implementing the GOALS reintegration pilot (2022-24) for returnee migrant workers in Telangana, IOM India office has worked closely with government and non-government stakeholders in implementing several pilot initiatives towards the sustainable reintegration of returning migrant workers in Telangana. Under GOALS, the first toll-free helpline towards providing psychosocial support to migrant workers was set up as multi-stakeholder initiative, in Telangana. As part of this, IOM, set up the helpline for supporting the mental health and psychosocial needs of returnees, to encourage them to open up about mental health concerns and help support towards sustainable reintegration within their communities of origin.
