Global mapping of actors, agencies, and networks engaged in training and/or capacity building programmes on migration and health

This study sought to develop a baseline understanding of training being carried out across the globe drawn from a global mapping of actors, agencies, and networks engaged in delivering training and capacity-building programmes and/or developing programmes in the field of migration and health. This was conducted primarily between March 2020 and May 2021.

Syndromic screening for COVID-19 of travellers crossing land borders: scientific brief, 21 December 2022

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, some countries have been performing syndromic screening of travellers who cross land borders.  Methods include screening for fever and respiratory or other symptoms, observation and completion of health declaration forms. Communities neighbouring land borders are often very closely connected by economic and social activities and family ties and many travellers cross land borders daily or more.

Migration Health Research Bulletin, Issue No. 25

The audio podcast episode outlines the result of the study which looks at the immunization coverage of refugees being resettled in the United Kingdom who underwent IOM’s health assessment programme as well as the the findings on the management of migrant health information in Nepal.

COVID-19 and the State of Global Mobility in 2021

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been monitoring the operational status of points of entry and travel restrictions and measures since March 2020, publicly availing this data on its COVID-19 Mobility Impacts platform since May 2020. IOM and the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) have been collaborating to analyse these data, on an annual basis, to ascertain the impact of COVID-19 on cross-border mobility of all forms over time.
 

Migration Health 2021 Impact Overview

This report is an annual overview of activities led and implemented by the Migration Health Division of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in 2021, in close collaboration with the Member States, other United Nations agencies, and partners in the international community, to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, meet operational challenges and advance understanding of migration health, encourage socioeconomic development through migration, and work towards ensuring respect of the human dignity and well-being of migrants.

Unaccompanied or separated children face increased health risks during migration

An "unaccompanied child" is a child separated from both parents and other relatives who is not being cared for by any other adult who, by law or custom, is responsible for doing so. Unaccompanied or separated children (UASC) are potentially more vulnerable to migration risks, due to their young age and unaccompanied status.

Refugees, migrants, internally displaced people and COVID-19: protocol for an updated systematic review

The review protocol is in line with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (Moher, Liberati, Tetzlaff, & Altman, 2009), and is essentially an update of the protocol (Hintermeier et al., 2020) of a previously published review on the topic (Hintermeier et al., 2021).
