Migration Health Research Area/Expertise:
Since 2014 I am MD resident in Hygiene and Public Health at University of Parma (Italy) where I enforced my knowledge of vaccinations, infectious disease, and public health. I have chosen to apply because I love to research on migrant health issues and on global policies. I have experience in the field of evidence-based medicine, in particular in systematic reviews and I am a referee for some national and international journals. From 2014 to 2015 I collaborated with the STOP-TB department at WHO headquarters, Geneva researching on the “Priority research questions for TB/HIV in HIV-prevalent and resource-limited settings”.

In 2016 I collaborated with WHO TB Regional EECA Project (TB-REP) seeking to improve tuberculosis outcomes in Eastern Europe and Central Asia through health systems strengthening approach.

Since 2016 I am a trainee at the LHU of Reggio Emilia (Italy) where I am enforcing my skills and experience on migrants health-related issues and health inequalities with Antonio Chiarenza, Chair of the HPH Task Force on Migration, Equity & Diversity. I collaborated with A.C. in the EU project: “Supporting health coordination, assessments, planning, access to health care and capacity building in member states under particular migratory pressure”. We developed the manuscripts: “Italy, Sicily - Contingency plan to strengthen capacity of regional health system to manage large influxes of refugees and migrants” and the migrant-friendly health care in the local health authority of Reggio Emilia, for the ‘Compendium of good practice in health system strengthening activities for the health of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the WHO European Region’ (In press). Actually, I am also a student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine where I am researching with Bern Rechel on a Systematic review focusing on PHR and e-PHR for migrants.
