Migration Health Research Area/Expertise
During my MSc in Public Health, I spent my summer at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Amman, Jordan, and Palestine, where I undertook my thesis looking at factors affecting low birth weight outcomes in pregnant Palestinian refugees. Since undertaking this project, I’ve embarked upon a PhD at Imperial College London which partially examines the spread of antimicrobial resistance in migrant populations and how this can affect the health of both migrants and those residing in the host country alike. In my future work, I hope to work in the field of migrant and refugee health.
