Technical Assistance Project for Essalud's Work Management Services - Peru (TAPES)

The project is designed to contribute in executing the Emergency Plan: Aid Action for Health Social Security, as an immediate activity adopted by the Government of the Republic in the field of health aiming to relieve the congestion in the number of pending appointments and their postponement, to reduce the delay concerning the ambulatory and surgical attention, to avoid the lack of beds and litters in hospitals and polyclinics all over the country, as well as to eliminate obsolescence and inoperativeness of medical equipments, so as to benefit the population assured in that system.

Provision of Repair Kits and NFIs to Vulnerable Populations and Returning Families Affected by Floods in Iquitos - Peru

It is estimated that nearly 32,000 houses have been affected by the floods in Loreto region. Having been forced from their homes with little personal effects, these families are living in precarious conditions. Initial visits carried out to the region by several UN agencies as well as non-governmental partners of IOM have identified over 50 collective centres in the areas surrounding Iquitos in which 6,649 people are being sheltered. The response will be focused on preparing affected populations to return to their communities.

Establish and Assist the Government of Peru to Manage Temporary Camps for Vulnerable Persons of the Earthquake Affected Area and Assist Local Populations in Three Main Camps ...(EAGP)

The shelter/camp management cluster faces the challenge of supporting all temporary settlements for as many as 60,000 people living in 40 camps for an estimate time of three months. The camps will be located in the three main affected provinces (Chincha, Pisco, Ica) in the Department of Ica, and will be managed by the National Authority (INDECI) in joint cooperation with the line ministries (Health, Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Women and Social Development) as well as by the local government of the Department of ICA.

Regional Prevention of Trafficking and Smuggling in Children and Adolescents and Reinforcing Their Knowledge about Sexual and Reproductive Health in the Andean Region (PTSCA)

This project aims to contribute to the improvement of information and education levels as well as to the knowledge of children and adolescents in beneficiary countries regarding the respect for human rights in the trafficking and smuggling in person field and ameliorate the access to information regarding related topics like domestic violence, sexual and reproductive health as well.

Global assessments suggest that a substantial proportion of labour migrants ends up in situations of extreme exploitation, some of whom are identified as victims of human trafficking. Because large numbers of migrant workers fall into a “grey area” between trafficking (as defined by international and national law) and exploitative labour situations, there is good reason to explore the differences and similarities between the health needs of those who have been identified as trafficked compared to other migrants working in the same labour sector who have not.
