The project RAS has been ongoing since 2002. It aims at contributing to the sustainable reintegration of up to 1000 migrants (residing under the Swiss asylum law) who consider returning voluntarily to their respective countries of return. Possibilities of reintegration assistance may range from professional reintegration (income-generating activity), housing assistance, training/education, cash for care, to cash for shelter with potential additional medical assistance.
Providing Refugee Resettlement Assistance to the Government of EstoniaRegion/Country(Coverage): European Economic Area, Estonia

This project is intended to provide comprehensive resettlement support to those refugees identified by the Government of Estonia for resettlement to Estonia. In this regard, IOM will undertake to facilitate and organise the resettlement to Estonia of 80 Syrian refugees through the facilitation of selection missions and travel document processing; provision of Pre-departure Medical Procedures, Pre-departure embarkation sessions, and the organisation and arrangement of safe and dignified movement management to the final port of entry ensuring all travel documentation and exit/entry visa requirements are met.
IOM’s Support to the Italian Programme for Assistance and Health Monitoring at Sea of Rescued Migrants - PASSIM PHASE 2Region/Country(Coverage): European Economic Area, Italy

The project aims at improving access to health assistance for vulnerable migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea and landed on Italian coasts. In pursuit of this objective, IOM will provide cultural mediation support during the rescue at sea operations, at landing points, and during transfers to hotspots. The presence of cultural mediators will have a two-fold positive effect. Firstly, it will bridge possible different cultural approaches to health care provision between migrant and health care provider. Secondly, it will facilitate the continuity of care from the first contact with the vulnerable migrant, during his landing, through his transfer to hotspot facilities.
IOM Supporting the Government of Italy in the Relocation of Potential Asylum Seekers to other European countries – IOM SHARERegion/Country(Coverage): European Economic Area, Italy

The purpose of the program is to i.) provide up-to-date, easily accessible and reliable information about assisted voluntary return and complex reintegration assistance to potential beneficiaries and then ii.) to facilitate the voluntary and orderly return of up to 88 beneficiaries iii.) to help up to 6 vulnerable returnees and returnees with chronic medical conditions during their reintegration in their countries of origin iv.) to provide complex reintegration support for 6 returnees to their countries of origin in order to facilitate income generating activities, v.) to help 4 (additional) eligible beneficiaries with both reintegration and complex reintegration assistance, and finally vi.) to collect and analyze the feedback of beneficiaries with regards to the services.
G-START: Governance, Territory, Reception and Health for Asylum Seekers and Holders of International ProtectionRegion/Country(Coverage): European Economic Area, Italy

The project aims at improving access to health assistance for asylum seekers and refugees living in the area of Local Health Authority ASL Roma 5, with a particular focus on psychosocial vulnerabilities. In pursuit of this objective, IOM will engage in three different processes. 1) IOM will contribute to Coordination Meetings with local stakeholders to define common procedures for local medical assistance to migrants, as well as to a Community of Practice managed by ASL Roma 5. 2) IOM will provide specific training sessions to health and reception centre staff about psychosocial vulnerabilities and health needs of migrants, as well as stress and burn-out syndrome prevention. 3) IOM will organize health literacy sessions in reception centres, involving asylum-seekers and holders of international protection to increase their knowledge and promote their capacity to approach the services and assume healthy behaviours.

The proposed project has two main components: IOM aims to continue providing protection services in the community center established in Idleb Governorate, Jiser Al Shughour District, Darkoush Sub-District to ensure that a greater number of Syrians have access to information and protection services in their community. Second, IOM seeks to mitigate the health, protection, and security risks for displaced populations being hosted in transit reception centres, and those living in makeshift camps, by providing alternative shelter solutions.

The SAFE Plus project has two primary objectives: The first primary objective is to address the urgent cooking fuel needs of Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox's Bazar, by introducing alternative clean cooking fuel and technology. The second primary objective focuses on improving economic livelihoods by rehabilitating the natural resource base while creating empowerment and livelihoods opportunities. The objectives address short, medium and longer-term challenges with activities benefiting both the refugee and host community populations, and therefore contributing to social cohesion.
