The programme will build upon current activities and continue to promote sustainable voluntary return and reintegration of Kosovars community members, including ethnic minorities returning from Switzerland by taking appropriate measures to improve socio-economic prospects for both the returnees and members of their receiving communities. The programme will also enhance the capacity of receiving communities to continue to attract, absorb, and retain returning migrants and to prevent further out-migration. This will be achieved by informing returnees of their entitlement to benefit from a specially designed project to help them either get access to employment or eventually start a business on their own. Moreover, returnees will be offered individualised counselling, referral to existing job-opportunities and job-creation schemes, training opportunities as well as referral to institutions capable of providing psychosocial support. Facilitating Sustainable Returns of Sudanese (FSRS)

IOM will implement support to the return and reintegration process through seven offices in central and southern Sudan providing presence and operational capacities along the main expected return routes throughout transitional and southern areas. The specific objectives are: 1) to provide return transportation support to 5200 returnees including spontaneous returnees identified as vulnerable and / or stranded, 2) to provide medical screening and escorting for 5200 returnees, as well as ongoing monitoring of routes and key return areas including Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Upper Nile states, 3) to provide 8500 families with life-sustaining emergency material assistance during returns in the oncoming rainy season, and to facilitate the reintegration process in communities of return.
